LEGAL DISCLAIMER
THE WEBPAGE YOU ARE ABOUT TO ACCESS (THE “SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL”) IS PROVIDED TO YOU BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC USA, INC., SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC CANADA INC., XANTREX TECHNOLOGY INC., AND THEIR AFFILIATED CORPORATE ENTITIES (“COLLECTIVELY, “SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC”) WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE AND FOR YOUR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND PERSONAL USE ONLY. THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL IS BEING OFFERED AS A GUIDE ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE RELIED UPON AS SOLAR ARRAY DESIGN ADVICE. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC DOES NOT PROVIDE SOLAR ARRAY DESIGN ADVICE AS THE INVERTER IS A SINGLE COMPONENT IN A COMPLICATED AND SITE DEPENDENT SYSTEM. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL TO CONFIRM THE CORRECTNESS OF THE REFERENCE INPUTS, THE FORMULAS BEHIND THE CALCULATIONS AND THE OUTPUT OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC RECOMMENDS THAT IN THE DESIGN OF ANY SYSTEM THAT A QUALIFIED INSTALLER BE CONTACTED TO CONFIRM THE OUTPUT OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL AND THE CORRECT SOLAR ARRAY.
There are a number of factors that may affect the output of the Schneider Electric Sizing Tool or the appropriate use of an inverter in an array design including, but not limited to, the following:
A Schneider Electric Xantrex GT Series Inverter will (i) shut down when DC voltage exceeds 600VDC, and if it does it will require a manual reset and may even be damaged; and (ii) may not be able to maximum power point track (MPPT) at voltages below 330VDC. Applications involving extreme temperatures or low fill factor modules often push the limits of this specified voltage range. This may mean that the inverter only operates above the voltage at max power point on the hottest days. Also, the lower DC voltage limited is dependent on grid voltage so the inverter may MPPT at lower DC voltages when grid voltage is at or below nominal. The Schneider Electric Sizing Tool is heavily dependent on the accuracy of the input data provided by the user and it does not account for module voltage degradation over time. Schneider Electric also relies on module specifications provided by the manufacturer of such module and cannot guarantee the accuracy of such information.
IN NO WAY IS THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL INTENDED TO BE A GUARANTEE OF THE PERFORMANCE OF SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC INVERTER PRODUCTS OR ARRAY COMPATIBILITY. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MAKES NO WARRANTY OR CONDITION AS TO THE ACCURACY, SUFFICIENCY OR SUITABILITY OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL AND ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR LOSSES, DAMAGES, COSTS OR EXPENSES, WHETHER SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL, WHICH MIGHT ARISE OUT OF THE USE OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL. THE USE OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL WILL BE ENTIRELY AT THE USERS RISK AND DISCRETION. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MAY AMEND, MODIFY, CHANGE, AND CEASE DISTRIBUTION OF THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIZING TOOL AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE.
